China Merchants Shenzhen West Container Terminal awarded "Top Ten Innovative Enterprises"

The results of the 2013 "China Shipping 100 of the Year" were recently announced at the *** Convention Center in Beijing. China Merchants Shenzhen West Shekou Container Terminal (SCT) was awarded "Top Ten Innovative Enterprises".

"China Shipping Annual 100" is a list of industry brands formed by China Shipping Weekly in collaboration with various organizations, experts and scholars, taking time as the clue and people and enterprises as the carrier to select important news events, people and model enterprises of the year, sort out the context and trend of the development of shipping in China and even the world each year. The "Top 10 Innovative Enterprises" is designed to recognize the outstanding performance of enterprises in management, technology and service model innovation in 2013. The award further recognises SCT's outstanding performance and benchmarking in integrated services, terminal management and business model innovation.

Located in the west of Shenzhen Port, SCT is a flagship member of China Merchants International's home port. SCT promotes an innovative sustainable development concept and is rapidly transforming into an innovative port. In recent years, SCT is improving terminal operation efficiency and energy saving and emission reduction through a series of technological innovations. From 2010 to 2012, SCT independently researched and developed 15 high-tech projects, successfully transformed scientific and technological achievements, and formed multi-core system processes and technologies. The successful transformation of these scientific research, on the one hand, enhances the competitiveness of enterprises, on the other hand, it also brings good social benefits.

SCT is one of the first terminals to practice the concept of green and low-carbon innovation. Through a variety of technologies and management measures, SCT is not afraid to invest a lot of money, and has successively implemented a series of energy saving and emission reduction projects such as RTG "oil to electricity", ship shore power supply, LNG internal transport trailer, LNG bus, LED lighting energy-saving lamp, BYD pure electric vehicle in the port area since 2008, to build a low-carbon professional green port. In February 2012, SCT was officially identified as a low-carbon port demonstration unit by the Ministry of Communications, and the ship shore power supply project put into operation during the same period is one of the three major shore power pilot projects established by the Ministry of Transport in the country, which is another comprehensive upgrade after the RTG "oil to electricity" project. The project won the Scientific and Technological Innovation Award of China Port Association in early 2013.

In terms of business innovation, SCT relies on the continuous improvement of the integrated logistics environment of the port area to further extend customer service innovation and promote a modern and all-round integrated service model.
