Since the beginning of this year, Baiyun Airport and China Southern Airlines have jointly cultivated the "Guangzhou Road" connecting Europe, Asia and Australia, and encrypted a number of direct flights to Europe and Oceania, including flights from Guangzhou to London and Guangzhou to Brisbane have both been encrypted to a daily departure. At the same time, Baiyun Airport also opened 13 new international routes this year, further enriching the route network and forming a strong force to attract international passengers. It is predicted that by 2015, the number of international routes of Baiyun Airport will reach about 130, which is expected to be the same as the number of international routes of Hong Kong Airport.

Shenzhen Airport, which has just completed the transition, also completed the "triple jump" of passenger throughput of 10 million this year, harvesting more than 30 million passenger throughput. At the same time, the annual cargo throughput of Shenzhen Airport has also risen from the initial 11,000 tons to 900,000 tons this year, and the proportion of air express shipments is 50%, close to the level of developed express shipments; The number of aircraft movements increased from 16,000 to more than 250,000.

The rapid development of the airports in Guangzhou and Shenzhen is really a good thing for enhancing the comprehensive strength of the Pearl River Delta city cluster and improving the business environment. According to reports, with the 72-hour transit visa-free policy of Baiyun Airport, international transit passengers began to grow, of which the international and regional passenger throughput of Baiyun Airport has reached about 9.5 million passengers this year, accounting for as high as 18.5%. Shenzhen Airport also said it has opened 169 routes to 109 cities.

It is not difficult to see that the airports in Guangzhou and Shenzhen are becoming more and more international, and the comprehensive competitiveness of the Pearl River Delta urban agglomeration is also rising.
