MSK regarding Bill of lading requirements for goods imported into Kenya
It is also understood that the shipping company Maersk issued an announcement saying that according to the information required by the Kenyan side, from September 24, 2018, the Bill of lading (SI) information of all imported goods imported into Kenya must be included
Include: contact telephone number of the consignee. If a phone number is not submitted after 24 September 2018, Maersk will not process international maritime traffic through or through the port of Mombasa.
According to Maersk, the phone number provided at the SI submission stage ensures that shippers can be contacted at any time throughout the delivery cycle. It will improve Maasky's ability to proactively notify interested parties of the arrival of goods and avoid the resulting delay costs.
