Baiyun Airport joins hands with China Southern Airlines to carry out outbound cargo transport from G

2022-03-09

On November 5, 2015, flight CZ633, which shared cargo space between Kenya Airways and China Southern Airlines, took off for Nairobi at 00:40, realizing the double sharing of flight resources and cargo station resources. This is another important measure for Baiyun Airport cargo Station and China Southern Cargo Station to strengthen cooperation in international cargo.

The so-called codeshare is when two airlines, the sharing party and the carrier, sell the same flight together with their respective flight numbers. Similarly, the so-called cargo space sharing is that the two airlines of the sharing party and the carrier will assemble their respective goods together on the same flight. If codeshare allows passengers to get more travel options, shorter transit times and baggage hangings, then cargo space sharing allows cargo owners to get more air cargo options, so that airlines can realize the benefit of the optimization.

It is reported that the cargo space sharing cooperation between China Southern Airlines and Kenya Airways is mainly to carry out outbound cargo joint transport business in Guangzhou, and in the early stage of cooperation, the joint transport network covers Uganda, South Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe 4 **. The sharing of cargo space between Kenya Airways and China Southern Airlines is not only the integration of the resources of the flights of the two airlines, but also the sharing of resources between Baiyun Airport cargo terminal and China Southern Cargo terminal. With the support of the airport customs, the whole operation mode is simple and fast. The cargo of Kenya Airways is put into the warehouse by the International Cargo Terminal No. 1, inspected for safety, sent to the board after delivery and reported to the customs. After the customs release, the cargo is handed over to the Southern Cargo Terminal through the air side, which completes the follow-up work such as cargo manifest making, message sending and installation.

The head of Kenya Airways said: "As early as 2013, Kenya Airways and China Southern Airlines on the Guangzhou-Nairobi route to achieve code sharing, this time to achieve cargo space sharing with China Southern Airlines thanks to the cooperation and support of the two cargo terminals and airport customs. After cargo space sharing, our belly space and route resources are fully utilized, and we have 10 direct flights per week from Guangzhou to Nairobi."

In the future, Baiyun Airport cargo Terminal will continue to cooperate with China Southern Airlines Cargo Terminal, make full use of Baiyun Airport international route resources, and further promote the construction of Baiyun Airport international cargo hub.
